The VLM500 works optically and contact-free. Based on a CCD sensor it implements the spatial filter principle. Spatial filter is the generic term for a measuring principle for the optical determination of velocity and length of moving objects. The spatial filter is based on the filtering effect of lattice-like structures (grid modulation). Basically, the functional principle of the VLM500 can be described as follows: The measuring object is projected on the CCD sensor which functions as an optical grid (no image taking). The VLM500 is equipped with an LED light source for the illumination of the measuring object. Due to the grid modulation a signal frequency, which is proportional to the speed, occurs upon movement of the object. The device calculates the velocity from the measured signal frequency. Several control circuits allow for automatic adjustment to most diverse materials. The VLM500 does not put high requirements on the surface character of the measuring object: Precise measurement is facilitated on periodic structures as well as on stochastic surfaces of metals, wood, rubber or paper.
VLM 200
The VLM 200, ASTECH offers anexceptionally robust and dependable sensor, which has been specifically tailored to the requirements of industrial use. Regardless of material, the VLM 200 measures lengths and speeds without contact and its interfaces allow it to be integrated optimally to automation and quality maintenance processes in many branches of industry.
LDM 41/42 (Minilaser 61)
The LDM 41/42 Laser Distance Measurement Sensor is designed for distance measurement applications in an industrial environment. The LDM 41/42 works based on comparative phase measurement. To achieve this, it emits a visible laser beam with different modulation frequencies. The target being measured returns diffusely reflected light that is subsequently compared with a reference signal. Finally, a microprocessor uses the recorded phase shift to calculate a required distance with mm accuracy. The sensor LDM 41 distinguishes itself through a high precision as well as a big independence of the surface of the measured object. The LDM 42 is design for fast measurement on a white target. The red, well visible laser beam allows a simple alignment.
LDS30A Laser Distance Sensor
The LDS30 laser distance sensor is dedicated for general ranging applications that require instantly triggered and fast data acquisition. The sensor provides measurement rates as fast as 30 kHz within a measurement range of up to 30m with no reflectors and 250 m with reflectors. It operates fully eye safe at a wavelength of 905 nm. The LDS30 sensor is optimized for easy system integration. It is available with a ready-to-use IP67 proof housing or configured as a distance sensor module for specialized system integration. The housed version is shockproof and suitable for applications that impose high impact on the sensor, for example in industrial environments.
